When introducing connectors, Song Shiqiang mentioned that the structural components of connectors also include insulators, shells (conductors), and accessories. Insulators, also known as bases or inserts, arrange contacts in the required positions and ensure insulation between contacts and between contacts and shells. Good insulation resistance, voltage withstand capability, and ease of processing are essential requirements for selecting insulating materials. The shell is the protective cover of the connector, providing mechanical protection for the internal insulating mounting plate and pins, aligning the plug and socket during insertion, and securing the connector to the equipment.
